Claudia Kate
London-based singer-songwriter Claudia Kate has a sound that sits somewhere between the unequivocal outspokenness of Kate Nash and the haunting musicality of Wolf Alice, having also been compared to Brit-nominated Self Esteem for her use of spoken word and her friend-in-me lyricism. Working at home with her producer, Claudia makes a name for herself as a wholly DIY artist.
It is evident through both Claudia’s music and social media presence that she is passionate about helping people feel better about themselves, and creating a community surrounding female empowerment. Claudia has been writing songs since age 15, from her childhood bedroom to her now rental flat in South London. At 23, the artist has grown into a sound which blends both her new-found maturity with those fragile feelings felt throughout youth.
Claudia is a regular on the South London music scene, and late last year supported iHeart Radio Award nominated Ellie Dixon at Camden Assembly, London. Claudia has been consistently supported by BBC Introducing throughout her career, recently making her Radio 1 debut with new single ‘Fizzy’. She describes her music as “music made in a bedroom, to be danced to in a bedroom”.
