I am beyond excited for this one! One of my all-time favourite musicians, MOA, is returning with a fierce and vulnerable new single, ‘Die/Life,’ on 27th September. It has been two years since her debut EP Beat, and I’ve been eagerly awaiting more music from this talented artist. Now, the wait is finally over. I’ve heard the track—and it’s absolutely stunning.
A Powerful New Release
‘Die/Life’ starts with a dry, thumping bass, a delicate synth pad, and MOA’s haunting, sleep-deprived vocals. From the very first line, “I’m getting up / Just let me lie / Let me lie a bit longer,” you feel the raw emotion. It immediately pulls you into a world of depression and burnout.
However, the song doesn’t stay quiet for long. It quickly builds into a powerful alternative rock anthem with big guitars, dynamic drums, and a huge breakdown. The production by Al Groves (who’s worked with Bring Me the Horizon and Crawlers) is bold and raw. MOA’s sincerity is present throughout, with honest lyrics and an emotional chorus. Yet, despite the sadness, there’s always a flicker of hope, which gives the track a unique edge.
Why ‘Die/Life’ is Unmissable
MOA has never shied away from tough topics, and ‘Die/Life’ is no different. It tackles the struggle between wanting to give up and learning how to live. As MOA puts it, “I don’t want to die / Wanna know how to live / There is a light beyond the abyss.” The song is both an anthem for anyone dealing with mental health struggles and a reminder that hope exists, even in the darkest times.
Personally, MOA’s music has always moved me. Her raw emotion, combined with her powerful voice and songwriting, is incredible. ‘Die/Life’ is no exception. In fact, it might be one of her most impactful releases yet. I know this single will be on repeat for me.
Mark your calendars for 27th September—this is one release you simply cannot miss! In the mean time pop on over and pre-save ‘Die/Life’ now here.
If for some bizarre reason you don’t already know and love MOA then head on over to Spotify and catch up before the single’s release. You can also follow her over on Instagram and TikTok.
