Maya Delilah is back with another taste of her upcoming debut album The Long Way Round. Today, she has released ‘Maya Maya Maya’, a soulful track that dives into self-reflection and personal growth.
Following the funky, flirtatious vibes of her last single, ‘Squeeze’, this one takes a different turn. “‘Maya Maya Maya’ feels like a song to my younger self,” Maya says. “It’s about not being taken advantage of, not always trying to please people, and making sure I’m living in the right way.” With warm melodies and an endearing honesty, the track highlights her ability to mix thoughtful songwriting with effortless charm.
A Rising Star On The Verge Of A Breakthrough
Maya is quickly becoming one of the most exciting new voices in music. She was recently named a 2025 Spotify ‘Artist To Watch’ after making Fender Next’s ‘Class of 2024’. These major co-signs are proof that she is an artist on the rise. Her blend of soul, pop, and jazz-influenced guitar playing has already won her a devoted fanbase, and The Long Way Round is shaping up to be a defining moment in her career.
An Album That Shows Every Side Of Maya
The upcoming album brings together all the elements that make Maya’s music so special. Across 12 tracks, she weaves in influences from country, blues, gospel, and funk, creating a mix that is both personal and relatable.
“This album is a combination of so many parts of me,” Maya says. “I take inspiration from different genres, people, places, and experiences, so I’ve never really had one set sound. It took me a long time to realise that it’s actually a great thing to have an album that explores all of that.”
Recording took her from a barn-based studio in Devon to a home setup in Los Angeles and back to different studios in London. She worked with a talented team of producers including Peter Miles, Josh Grant, Doug Schadt, Seth Tackaberry, and Ben Fletcher & Tom Higham of Aquilo. The album also features collaborations with Samm Henshaw, Grace Lightman, and Cory Henry.
The Next Big Chapter
Maya Delilah’s journey to this debut album has been full of growth and creativity. A graduate of the prestigious BRIT School, she first made waves during lockdown by posting stripped-back performances on TikTok. Over time, she built a following that connected with her mix of humour, vulnerability, and impressive guitar skills. Songs like ‘Breakup Season’ and ‘Tangerine Dream’ helped her rack up millions of streams, and now, The Long Way Round is set to take her even further.
‘Maya Maya Maya’ is available to stream now, with The Long Way Round arriving on 28 March.
