Lorenka has officially arrived. The Birmingham-based alt-rock artist releases her debut single ‘Do You Want Me Too?’ today, and it’s a punchy, emotional track that doesn’t hold back. Combining raw vocals, sharp lyricism and an infectious melody, Lorenka lays it all bare in a song that captures the drama of not knowing where you stand in a relationship.
Blending early 2000s emo with modern alt-pop attitude, Lorenka brings raw feelings to the surface. From the moment the reverb-heavy guitars hit, there’s a sense of tension. Then come the explosive drums and soaring vocals. It all builds toward a chorus that demands to be shouted back.
Lorenka wrote the track during what she describes as a moment of emotional chaos. It’s about being stuck in the grey area of a situationship, not knowing where you stand but feeling everything all at once. “This was the loudest emotion I’d ever written,” she says. “It needed to be loud. It needed to be real.”
One of Birmingham’s brightest new alt-rock voices
Backed by an all-star lineup of Midlands musicians, including Joseph Kimberley and Joseph Calverley on guitars, Thomas Levick on bass, and Matthew Hall on drums, the track feels fresh but familiar. Producer Matthew Jeffries gives it space to breathe, then lets it explode.
Live, Lorenka is already making waves. Her packed-out shows in Birmingham have earned her a growing following. She’s set to play Grassroots Festival on 27 April and When We’re Dead at The Asylum on 10 May.
‘Do You Want Me Too?’ doesn’t shy away from big feelings. It embraces them. The song is messy in the best way, reflecting those restless, complicated moments when love doesn’t come with answers.
Fans of artists like Paramore, Wolf Alice and Beabadoobee will find plenty to love. Even if you’re new to the genre, there’s something captivating about Lorenka’s sound. Her music isn’t here to comfort. It’s here to shake you up and make you feel seen.
With this debut, Lorenka sets the tone for what’s to come: loud, unfiltered, and completely herself.
‘Do You Want Me Too?’ is available to stream everywhere now.
