Liam J. Edwards Set to Release Bold New Single ‘R.Y.A.N’

Welsh pop sensation Liam J. Edwards is ready to captivate audiences once again with their highly anticipated single, ‘R.Y.A.N’, set to debut on 5 February 2025. Following the success of their previous release, ‘Fake Friends’, in November 2024, this new track promises to elevate Liam’s reputation as a powerful and boundary-pushing artist. Known for their deep, classically-trained voice and innovative alt-pop production, Liam blends vulnerability and defiance in their latest work.

‘R.Y.A.N’ is an acronym for “Run You A**hole Never come back” – a raw and unfiltered recount of a toxic relationship that inspired this ferocious breakup anthem. With striking lyrical honesty and an electrifying mix of piano balladry and queer pop energy, the track delves into betrayal, heartbreak, and resilience. Co-produced by Liam and Tim Hamill at Sonic One Studios, the single echoes the theatrical intensity of Lady Gaga and the experimental flair of Years & Years.

Reflecting on the track, Liam shared: “My ex just sucks. For nearly two years, I gave everything to the relationship, only to discover his true colours when we ended things. I wanted to name him, but I opted for the acronym instead – a cathartic way to lay it all bare without holding back.”

A Phenomenal Year for Liam

2024 was monumental for Liam, who headlined a sold-out show at Clwb Ifor Bach and performed a live session with ITV Backstage, supported by a full band and string trio. Their achievements include winning Best EP/Album at the Independent Artist Awards and Best Music Video at the Music For Youths Music Video Awards. Long-listed for the Welsh Music Prize, Liam’s impact on Wales’ music scene is undeniable.

Their debut album, Unnecessarily Complicated, released in 2024, garnered over 280,000 Spotify streams and featured performances alongside acclaimed artists such as HVNTER and MACY. Beyond music, Liam advocates for LGBTQ+ rights and mental health awareness, with initiatives like fundraising for Transaid Cymru and performing at Pride events further highlighting their multifaceted influence.

Looking ahead, ‘R.Y.A.N’ is poised to add another chapter to Liam’s impressive career. As their music resonates with over 300,000 streams and 60,000 listeners worldwide, the single promises to be a bold anthem of empowerment.

‘R.Y.A.N’ will be available on all major streaming platforms from 5 February 2025. With this release, Liam J. Edwards cements their place as one of Wales’ most exciting and vital musical talents. You can pre-save ‘R.Y.A.N’ here.
