Leah Wilcox is set to release her new single, having recently joined BIMM Birmingham record label, River St Records. The track, ‘Origami Flowers’ will be released on 15th March on all streaming platforms.
Through the metaphor of making ‘Origami Flowers’, Leah recognises the careful attention to detail and investment of her time that they require to make. Implying that the work put in will ensure that these flowers are evergreen and will avoid wilting like those that usually grow in gardens – which represents other kinds of love. Leah’s distinct blend of rich vocals, whimsical falsettos, emphatic harmonies, and rolling, delicate guitar motifs create a light and playful tone – with that, ‘Origami Flowers’ provides a blissful and devoted love song.
Leah Wilcox‘ musical career started at the young age of 14 and she has spent the last few years building up a large following in the Derbyshire music scene. With her dreamlike and wistful sound, Leah’s passion to share honestly her life experiences, and journey as a growing musician, is anchored in the heartfelt lyrics of her music. Sonically rooted in indie pop, Leah draws on Americana and folk tendencies too, giving the foundation to her uniquely earthy and raw feel. Nostalgic of Beabadoobee, Faye Webster and in many ways Holly Humberstone, Leah’s angelic yet rich vocals provide the perfect conduit for telling her romantic tales of personal development, self-awareness, love and hope.
