Coastal cowgirl, Bailey Tomkinson knows how to get us excited and the idea of her releasing a cover of John Denver’s Christmas celebration pretty much hits the nail on the head. ‘Christmas for Cowboys’ is her new single which is due for release on 8th December.
Drawing inspiration from the legendary John Denver and her own coastal roots in St Ives, Kernowfornia, Bailey Tomkinson brings a fresh take to this holiday classic. Her rendition embodies the spirit of the season with a personal touch, set to captivate listeners and become a new holiday favourite. Bailey’s recent successes, including her acclaimed EP “California Fire” and sold-out tours, have established her as a noteworthy artist in the UK music scene. “Christmas for Cowboys” further showcases her evolving artistry and her ability to connect with audiences through music.
Talking about the track Bailey says “My love of John Denver comes from my Grandad, we would spend hours together listening to his old records, so recording “Christmas for Cowboys” felt like a trip down memory lane. I like that this is a bit of an under-appreciated song really, it never broke the top 50 in the US and didn’t even chart in the UK, so not that many people know it, and seeing as we all get a bit fed up of hearing the same songs every Christmas, a new/old Christmas classic felt like the ideal present”
You can pre-save ‘Christmas for Cowboys’ here. Bailey is also playing a free gig at The Hub in St. Ives on 23rd December which, if you’re in the area, you really should get along to! You can get your tickets for that show here. You can follow Bailey Tomkinson over on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
