Liam J. Edwards releases defiant new single ‘Thank You’

Liam J. Edwards is back and making noise with a fearless new single. Released today, ‘Thank You’ brings a heady mix of alt-pop, guitar-laced grit and tongue-in-cheek energy that feels completely their own. This is the sound of confidence, survival and finally having the last word.

Written alongside Millie Blooms and produced by Blooms, Daniel Royston Fry and Liam themselves, ‘Thank You’ blends theatrical flair with glitchy electronics, making it one of their most exciting tracks to date. There’s boldness in every beat and a vocal delivery that balances pain, humour and empowerment.

The track feels like a post-breakup anthem, but one that’s more about rising above than wallowing in sadness. “It’s dry, sarcastic and emotional,” Liam says. “It’s everything I needed to say, in one place.”

From viral performances to headline shows

2024 was a breakthrough year for Liam. They stole the spotlight on Y Llais (The Voice of Wales) with a four-chair turn, headlined Clwb Ifor Bach, and won Best Music Video at the Music For Youths Awards. Meanwhile, their previous releases have seen over 300,000 Spotify streams and support from BBC Introducing, Kiss FM and beyond.

Their earlier tracks, including ‘R.Y.A.N’ and their powerful take on ‘Yma o Hyd’, showed us their range. But ‘Thank You’ cranks up the volume, diving into popera territory without losing any of its emotional punch.

Liam’s vision is brought to life with artwork by Chloe Michelle, shot at Teddy’s Place, perfectly capturing the single’s fierce energy. It matches the mood of the track; proud, intense and full of flair.

This is a big year ahead, and ‘Thank You’ sets the tone. For anyone who’s ever walked away from someone who didn’t see their worth, this one’s for you.

The single is out now on all major streaming platforms. Crank it up and sing it loud. Liam J. Edwards is just getting started.
