Emerging Manchester indie artist Jack Hyphen is gearing up for the release of his latest single, ‘Already Lost’, on 28th February 2025. Known for his dynamic songwriting and emotive live performances, Jack’s new track is a powerful exploration of inner conflict, self-doubt, and the struggle to find clarity in the midst of uncertainty.
‘Already Lost’ delivers a compelling blend of brooding melodies, intricate harmonies, and introspective lyrics. The line “keep me from running to your lies” encapsulates the song’s deep self-awareness, reflecting the internal battle of facing one’s own thoughts. The track is driven by soaring guitars and an ethereal undercurrent, creating an accessible yet thought-provoking soundscape.
Jack has been steadily building a reputation in the Manchester music scene with his electrifying performances and intricate songwriting. He first gained attention as the frontman of Herefordshire indie-rock band Point Zero before transitioning to a solo career. Initially releasing acoustic-driven singles that showcased his vocal and lyrical prowess, he later evolved into a full-band setup in 2019, adding a punchier alternative pop-rock edge to his music.
Gaining Momentum in the Indie Scene
Discussing the inspiration behind ‘Already Lost’, Jack explains: “I really wanted guitars to drive this track, alongside some great harmonies, and I think we achieved this. ‘Already Lost’ was written at a time when I was making some big life decisions, which led to an internal battle of what was the right or wrong choice. With many external opinions also adding to this stress, the song captures the turmoil that occurs when you do not know which voice, or voices, to listen to.”
Jack has already gained support from major tastemakers, including EARMILK, and has received airplay on Amazing Radio and XS Manchester. His live performances have earned praise from BBC Radio 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins, further cementing his status as an artist to watch. He has also opened for rising bands such as Crystal Tides, Jeremiah Ferrari, and James Walsh of Starsailor.
With the upcoming release of ‘Already Lost’, Jack continues to showcase his finest work, blending heartfelt lyricism with anthemic instrumentation. Fans can catch him live at the following shows:
- 2nd March – You Are Not Alone Festival, Stockport
- 30th May – Headline Show, Peer Hat, Manchester
