After a year-long hiatus, independent band Little Planets have announced their return with the release of their new single ‘Time’ on 31st January 2025. This marks an exciting new chapter for the duo, now comprising founding members Tia Williams and Sophie Wilson.
In an emotional update shared with fans, Little Planets reflected on the journey that brought them to this point. Having formed in 2019 while studying at music university, the band once consisted of six members who shared a home and a dream. However, the passage of time and the realities of adulthood have led to significant changes. Today, Tia and Sophie are steering the ship independently, funding their music and managing the band alongside their day jobs.
The duo acknowledged the challenges they’ve faced over the past year, from adjusting to living apart to navigating the financial and emotional strain of pursuing music without external support. Despite these difficulties, their passion for creating and performing remains undiminished.
A New Era for Little Planets
“We’re back for good,” the pair wrote in their announcement. They shared their excitement about the new material, promising that ‘Time’ will resonate with anyone who has ever felt the pressure of chasing a dream. “Every day that goes by makes you feel like you’re running out of time to get to where you want to be—and yet, to the rest of society, we’re only 23 and have all the time in the world,” they said.
This theme of balancing ambition with self-compassion is central to their new single. The band hopes ‘Time’ will offer encouragement to listeners grappling with similar feelings, reminding them to trust their own pace.
Tia and Sophie also emphasised their gratitude for the fans who’ve stood by them through this transitional period. “Thank you for sticking by us,” they wrote. “We love you all.”
Looking ahead, the duo hinted at more music and exciting projects on the horizon. As they embark on this fresh chapter, Little Planets are determined to make their mark on the independent music scene while staying true to their authentic, heartfelt sound.
