2. Lydia Cass – The Grey
Lydia Cass has had a storming year. In 2023 she was one of our picks for artists to watch and we’re so happy that so many of you agree. The Grey is one of four singles she’s released this year and it’s also her best. Stunning stuff.
1. Mark Moncrieff & Emilie Culshaw – Strong
Taking the top spot for 2024 is Mark Moncrieff & Emilie Culshaw with their banging dance anthem, ‘Strong’. The fact that it’s also Emilie Culshaw’s debut it’s clear that she’s chosen well for her first collaboration.
We caught up with Mark Moncrieff and he shared his thoughts on the win: “I’m incredibly honoured to have been put forward for Single of the Year and a huge thanks to TuneFountain for the opportunity to showcase this. I’m thrilled that it resonates with so many people which makes all the hours of drafting, re working and self doubt worth it.
I couldn’t have done this without the help and guidance of Phil at Emergent Music and Terry Gaters Music, who’s guidance and input helped mould the song into the final version. And of course, Emilie who brought the song to life with her magnificent vocal performance and lyrics. Thanks also to all my friends and family and my amazing wife, who always at least pretends to like my stuff 😂 And finally, thank you to everyone that took the time to vote, it means the world.”
